So does my horse and even my car has free healthcare in the form of tune-ups, oil changes and tire rotation. As the OWNER I get to choose how that healthcare will be rationed. I can buy my little poodle a fancy doggie toothbrush and call it healthcare while neglecting the oil changes in my car to pay for it. I might do this because of the mutual affinity I have with my dog despite the fact that the dog will NEVER contribute to the economic system that pays for the care. MASTER’s have that privilege.

No one doubts ObamaCare will lead to medical decisions based on political considerations. Consider the billions spent on AIDS, a disease primarily spread by bad behavior, and the money [...]
Continue reading My Dog Has Free Healthcare

When you see people who say they would vote for a RINO but never a libertarian it makes you wonder. What is the difference between a libertarian and a RINO that reasonable men could arrive at such a conclusion?

I created a handy table illustrating the differences between libertarians and RINOs on issues of the day and yesterday.

Principle
Libertarian
RINO

Low Taxes
No Taxes
What Will Get Me (Re-)Elected
Or WWGM(R)E for brevity

Drug War
End it
WWGM(R)E

Gun Rights
The more the merrier
WWGM(R)E

Free Speech
They never shut up. I think that pretty much says it all.
WWGM(R)E

Religion
Most religious people are kooks but they have a right to be kooks.
WWGM(R)E

Free Press
Totally dude
WWGM(R)E

Income Tax
End it.
WWGM(R)E

Life
Mostly Pro-Abortion.
Large Pro-Life contingent.
WWGM(R)E

Standing Army
No
WWGM(R)E

NASA
Let the private sector do it
WWGM(R)E

Federal Reserve
Let the Free Market do it
WWGM(R)E

If we take just a few of these:

Barney would cheerfully murder anybody the political climate would allow him to murder to get money to feed his socialist agenda. Obama or Pelosi would as well. Tyranny has reared her ugly head in America and instead of poking her in the eye with a bayonet we joined the herd and hoped we would not be singled out.
When the historians write the story of America this will likely be the day they mark down as the tipping point. The day America’s fate was sealed.

Elections have consequences.

Our nation was teetering on bankruptcy; this will likely put it beyond redemption. Before this passed, Moody’s was speaking of downgrading the US’s AAA rating if congress didn’t get control of spending. Congress responded by sticking their finger in the eye of responsible Americans. Obviously this entire bill is unconstitutional but the spending and borrowing will be the catalyst that destroys the dollar and perhaps the nation.

Republicans have maybe one chance to save the nation in January. Fix ObamaCare by repealing it and refuse to pass unbalanced budgets.

Will RINO’s Repeal ObamaCare?

Senator McCain?

Snowe?

Lugar, Bennett, Collins, Graham?

Romney?

Congressmen Smith, Castle [...]
Continue reading March, 21 2010 a Day which will live in Infamy

I have now been to two events hosted by these guys and they are going to be making things happen. Making things happen by training Tea Partiers and others how to engage in the political system.

American Majority offers candidate and activist training while the Hancock Committee is oriented towards helping groups work together to achieve common goals.

Do we have a party of principle? What are the principles?

Do we even have men of principle? What are those principles?

Are you a Big Tent Republican? Does big tent preclude principle? Reagan’s big tent philosophy is often cited as reason to avoid getting bogged down in policy debates. Or for failing to excommunicate RINO’s. Did Reagan have no principles?

I have asked here before if there is even one principle to which conservatives can agree one must be bound to be accepted into the fold. I have not yet heard the response that was more than a vague exercise in goals.

Hamilton proposed and oversaw the creation of the First Bank of the US.

Generally central banks in the US have been favored by proponents of a strong national government. Hamilton was also a borderline monarchist. He wanted a King-like President and he wanted the senate to be a British style House of Lords with lifetime tenure. Chuckie Schumer for life.

Though he wrote of balance of power in the Federalist Papers he consistently landed on the side of federal power once the document was ratified. Combine his opposition to the Bill of Rights with his love of federal power and he is what?

He argued against the Bill of Rights because it would contradict the notion that the powers granted were explicit [...]
Continue reading The FED is Progressivism

Bridges get longer, buildings get higher, cars go faster and yet arrive with a higher degree of safety at their destinations. The medical profession uses techniques and knowledge acquired thousands of years ago. And yesterday. We live longer and healthier lives because of it. Mathematicians need not discover Pythagorean’s Theorem today any more than a carpenter need invent a hammer to build with. They are tools that have been given to us by our forefathers which when used properly allow us to do things the original inventors could never do. Pythagoras could never have built the moon lander. Total War is not only defined by what you are willing to destroy in your quest for victory but what you are willing to lose.
