They worked their hearts out, with joy.

With this somewhat stilted sentence, Michelle Bachmann captured the essence of America. She was speaking of her grandparents at the Redstate Gathering 2010 in Austin.

I am glad to see she has gotten in.

Left, right or across to many have forgotten the key ingredients that made America different from the rest of the world.

A written constitution that was obeyed, mostly, for the first 100 years and generally for the next 50 years.

This dovetails into the rule of law that too many on the right ignore with Drug Wars and Social Security among others items plainly in violation of the US Constitution but which “conservatives” still support from political expediency and a desire for power. [...]

Will Boehner listen to the people?

Steve King gets it. Michelle Bachman gets it. What is wrong with Boehner? With Cantor?

h/t to texasgalt for the King link.

According to sources familiar with discussions among House Republican leadership, Boehner and Cantor were informed by GOP leadership staff that it would have been “relatively easy” to gain the necessary votes to change House rules to allow the Bachmann-King amendment to be included in the continuing resolution. “It has been done in the past without a lot of sound and fury,” says a current House member. “You change the rules and then you include the amendment that you want now that the rules have been changed. Whether you mark the beginnings of the Tea Party movement from the Shamnesty protests or The Tax Day Tea Parties we [...]

Why do we think the American Drive In should focus on ObamaCare when there are so many other problems that need attention?

Here are a few points to consider:

In the past, the big government, statist, RINO types have been all too happy to see us fractured into 5 or 10 different issues. It is easy to distract away from their poor performance if they can point to the five things they voted for, while accomplishing none of them. By focusing on ObamaCare, a single issue, there can be no doubt how each Representative and Senator votes. Most Americans agree we need to stop excessive spending, lower taxes, control illegal immigration, balance the budget, repeal financial reform and more; ObamaCare, more [...]

1040 for Liberty1040 for Liberty

Folks it is as simple as this. We’ve been bluffed by the likes of Blarney Frank, because it wasn’t all bluff. Barney would cheerfully murder anybody the political climate would allow him to murder to get money to feed his socialist agenda. Obama or Pelosi would as well. Tyranny has reared her ugly head in America and instead of poking her in the eye with a bayonet we joined the herd and hoped we would not be singled out. [...]
