A short proposal on what Americans can do with the garbage of the 1040 that violates every right recognized and guaranteed in the constitution. Let’s make up our own. For example:

Timothy “TurboTAX Cheat” Geithner

THE LIBERTY 1040.

Enclosed please find my tax payment for 20__. This is an estimate based on my cursory reading of the tax code. Given that the current tax code contains tens of thousands of pages you will forgive me for not reading it in its entirety. In fact I only looked at a few pages. Since reading the tax code is a virtual impossibility you should not in any way assume this is a sworn statement or even a statement; it is a guess. It is a guess because it would be impossible for any person to read, correlate and understand the thousands of pages of code that was purposefully written to be as confusing as possible.

Since the questions contained on the IRS provided 1040 are in clear violation of my rights, I will not be sending that 1040 or the information requested. I do not dispute the governments ability to levy taxes but I will not be forced to provide the rope to hang myself or dig my own grave. On that score you can go to hell.

If I have missed any part of the tax code that is relevant I am sure you will understand. If you have reason to believe I have not paid the proper amount please forward me any information you have to indicate where and I will look into it. I will let you know if you are correct or if your assertions are specious. Please note blanket assertions or threats are in the specious category so be specific. Otherwise, if you wish to continue receiving my guesstimated payments leave me alone.

It is often stated that ignorance of the law is no excuse and I would generally agree. However when we consider the congressmen who pass the tax laws (generally thousands of pages) do not bother reading the laws before they pass them; I don’t think I can be expected to read them after they pass them. So I didn’t.

I will no longer be forwarding copies of any of the paperwork you request as I have a right to be secure in my person and effects from illegal search or seizure. This is not a right congress can usurp or infringe upon. Not only is it God given but it is also the law according to the Constitution. Please inform the congress and the bureaucracy that ignorance of THAT law will no longer be excused.

In addition to refusing to inform on myself I will no longer inform on my friends and neighbors by sending in documentation related to payments. If you want to know how much money they made; ask them.

If any part of this letter is used to threaten, harass, lien, charge, or otherwise bother me I will no longer participate in our “voluntary” tax system. Under those circumstances I will no longer pay any income tax. I will no longer be “voluntarily” surrendering my rights.

I will not be signing under penalty of perjury due to the fact that, as noted, anything based on the current tax code is at best a complete guess and I can hardly be expected to swear to a guess. In addition I cannot ever be expected to testify against myself as swearing or attesting to the contents of this document would most certainly be doing. This is not to be construed as a statement of fact either. I don’t know if this is fact or not. Neither do you. You have no person or group of people at Treasury or the IRS that can reliably interpret the tax code.

Ps. I have health care that I consider adequate. Or I haven’t got healthcare. It is my choice and I have made it.

Folks it is as simple as this. We’ve been bluffed by the likes of Blarney Frank, because it wasn’t all bluff. Barney would cheerfully murder anybody the political climate would allow him to murder to get money to feed his socialist agenda. Obama or Pelosi would as well. Tyranny has reared her ugly head in America and instead of poking her in the eye with a bayonet we joined the herd and hoped we would not be singled out.

We often refer to the WWII generation as the “Greatest Generation.” Without discounting what they did I would point out that they merely did what had to be done as they saw it. That may sound like a downplaying of the sacrifices made. It’s not. John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and John Hancock also merely did what they recognized needed to be done as they saw it. Of course they were heroes, heroic times were upon them, their mettle was tried in the crucible and found adequate.

That Samuel Adams quote could have as easily been uttered by MacArthur in WWII or Reagan as he won the cold war. The “Greatest Generation” is the one that recognizes the imminent threat and then does what needs to be done to preserve liberty. We hold in our hands the future of liberty. As we look at the enlistment contract signed by Henry Lee, Paine, Franklin, Madison, Adams, Jackson, Eisenhower, The Sullivan Brothers, and countless people whose names we’ll never know; we are faced with a choice of whether we will join the “Greatest Generation.” Our mettle is being put to the test, will we put our John Hancock on that contract?

On a tightly related side note:

Recently in his “What to do?” comments Vassar at Redstate suggested part of what we do is make them miserable. Accost them in the streets, in the mall, etc. It is a beginning and hopefully enough that nothing further is needed. Barney Frank was recently taken to task on an aircraft by a couple of eye doctors. Captive audience at FL350. Some may say it was uncouth. I say BRAVO to the docs. Make him and every other one of these worthless congresscritters miserable in every place, at every time possible. No more can they have a quiet dinner out with their favorite recipient of government largesse. No more can they enjoy a day at Disney World. No more can they read a magazine at the airport while waiting for a flight. It need not stop at elected officials. Every congressman has staffers, if he can keep them. They too need to be pointed out and called out publicly as part of that miserable crowd. If a congressman can’t keep his staffers because being a staffer is a constant exercise in public humiliation then liberty will be advanced. We need a few congressmen with guts so Obama dreads coming to congress for a State of the Union speech for fear of what WILL be said at every lie.

It is a sign of things that MUST come if liberty is to survive.
